Maileg Spring 2013 - and LOTS of bunnies coming to Cottontails

I promised you some Maileg news, and here it is.

It's in two parts.

Firstly, the new catalogue for Spring Summer 2013 has arrived and there are lots of lovely new things in it - more about the rest of the range in another post, but for now we are going to concentrate on bunnies, because it's all change in the world of the Maileg Rabbit.

You know they used to do the rabbits in various sizes and various outfits, and then occasionally there would be some extra outfits available too? Well, they've decided to stop producing 'clothed' rabbits and instead let you choose your own clothes...

So, in the near future, all the different sized rabbits will come wearing a lovely set of underwear (they're not entirely naked obviously, that wouldn't be decent) and we will also be stocking LOTS of Maileg outfits for you to choose from. Everything will probably start arriving late Feb . So - you will choose a rabbit, choose an outfit and therefore make up your own Maileg bunny. Nice.

The bunnies in their undies

Just a few of the clothes....

... and just a few more

But that's not all.

The second Big Piece of News:

I have bought up all the remaining UK stock of clothed bunnies. (SO exciting!) I have simply loads of them here. They arrived today and are hopping about in boxes in the hall downstairs, thumping their feet and waiting to be unpacked.

I am planning to have a little festival of Maileg rabbits, with special offers and competitions. It's going to be lots of fun.

I'll get things up and running next week.

Bunnies in my hall....

So, there we are. My exciting Maileg news. Naked rabbits for the future and LOTS of clothed rabbits for the present.

HOORAY! The more Maileg rabbits the merrier, we say.

Tell Tail... Competition to win £50!

Hooray! It's time for another Cottontails competition, and this time it's all about tails.

Win me! (oh and £50 to spend at Cottontails too)

Have a look at the eight tails pictured below - they all belong to toys I stock at Cottontails.  Anyone correctly identifying all eight tails will go into a draw to win £50 to spend at Cottontails - with a little Laura Long long-tailed mouse thrown in too!

Hopefully it won't be too hard, but just tricky enough to be a bit of a challenge. Every animal is on the Cottontails website, and don't forget the little search box in the top right corner of the website, it might help you narrow down certain types of animal and so on.

1. A classic Moulin Roty toy, my favourite animal

2. This creature is famous for it's long tail (& love of cheese)

3. Little boys are said to be made of these, along with slugs and snails

4. Enemy of St. George....

5. These animals are famous for their curly tails

6. Less of a tail, more of a brush....

7. Another of our favourite creatures, part of a Grand Family

8. Beatrix Potter wrote about one called Tommy Brock

When you think you've worked out who the tails belong to, simply send me an email to charlotte@cottontailsbaby.co.uk with your list of names.

All the correct answers will go into a hat and I'll pick a winner on the last day of January.

And finally, it would be nice if you would like to leave a comment to say you've taken part, but please don't give away the answers in your comment.

Have fun and good luck!

Cottontails Baby in The Guardian

Something very exciting happened in the run up to Christmas, and it meant that I was so busy I am only now finding time to write about it.

Cottontails baby was named 'Best for Toys' in The Guardian's guide to independent online shopping!

This little accolade, along with having several products featured in their Christmas shopping gift guide, has meant a huge soar in sale, just going to show that a bit of 'big' publicity makes such a difference to a little shop like mine.  I am delighted!
